But ... Perhaps there is in fact a shift from one space of being to another; and the variation in experience is just the evidence of the coming-to-be of a different spatial center. The apparent constancy of ego would only be echos.

Mmmmh, Hi Ira! I don't really know what a "space of being" could be in this particular respect. This kind of thing is too far from the somaesthetic point of view I took in this post for me to yet understand its link with something as abstract as "being" or the inner structure of "ego".

Besides I woas not pointing to two different tokens of experience, but two different types of them. I think I coud understand your comment if I had been talking about tokens. But I was trying to understand the differences between two types of orgasms - different as far as I live them.

But perhaps is it a mistake to focus on types - there being nothing but singularities. It might be so. However, the intellectual experience of types and typification is a habits which is hard to shed.

You're right. I tried to shift the language from your somoesthetic point of view -- which is surprised by variation in how "je ressens autrui" -- to a view that expects such variation -- and thus thrives in the endless rebirthing [ shifting of spaces of being ] that is the "je/autrui" experience(s).
I'm willing to stop here, if you are.
Ce n'est pas facile à interpréter les paroles bien particulières d'un autre dans une langue étrangère, n'est-ce pas ? lol

I did not mean to devalue your analysis of differences between the two experiences.
However, I sensed that you were building a moral hierarchy of experience ( avec autrui / onanisme ), which would lessen your abiltiy to appreciate that each "space of being" is a precious "angle of relation to the cosmic." I said I would stop, didn't I ?! And I only threw into the ring even more crazy language !

In a way, you are right : there are remains of moral evaluation in so for as the root of what sustains morality is mainly feelings.

The remaining - and irksome - question is: what can be done out of moral _feelings_.

Therefore, I do agree with your pointing my inability to connect to the "cosmic" - if by saying so you aim at some kind of freedom. However, - swiching to French :o) - il semble qu'en ce moment il me faille expérimenter ces contraintes morales internes, sans doute pour les mener à leur terme - en tout cas pour mener au jour ces sentiments très enchevêtrés qui me font parois confondre la vie spirituelle et le plaisir qu'on tire de certains objets de fantasmes.
